Tividale village, within a parish of St Michael known as when the church built there, was created in 1878 as an extension of the town of Tipton in the county of Staffordshire, England. It was originally placed around a independent Dudley to Oldbury road by having numbers of centred terraced houses with shop fronts on the highway also when many supplementary unofficially streets running. However Tividale began to expand whilst you took a foremost half of a 20th century when Tipton Urban District/County Borough council built hundreds of council houses likewise when hundreds to thousands of privately owned houses existence built in the area, stretching towards the border by owning Rowley Regis and Dudley.

Around 1966, Tipton became section of West Bromwich County Borough but Tividale was split between the boroughs of West Bromwich and Warley. Since 1974 it has been a portion of Sandwell Metropolitan Borough.
